About the CBA.

Our Story.

For over 40 years the Congressional Black Associates has been a leader in enhancing the political, social, and economic well-being of black staffers on the Hill. Our work is expansive - comprising of professional development programs, networking events, and offering opportunities that position staffers to become leaders on and off the Hill.

As we enter this milestone year, it is clear that we have to continue honoring the principles that have made the CBA into the invaluable resource it is today. It is even clearer, however, that we cannot stop there.

This year, the CBA is determined to build upward and on top of the foundation that has been cultivating thus far. We are proud to mark this anniversary by proving, even more, the brilliance of what we stand for.

Our Mission

Our mission is to enhance the political, social and economic capabilities of Black people on Capitol Hill, in the Greater Washington Metropolitan area, the nation, and other countries throughout the world. CBA serves as a professional and social network for Black employees who are working or have worked on Capitol Hill to disseminate information on relevant issues and news important to Black people.
