CBA Statement on Senator-elect Warnock’s Historic Win

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, the Congressional Black Associates released the following statement on the historic win of Senator-elect Raphael Warnock who will become the first Black Senator to represent the State of Georgia:

"Today we embrace the historic win of Senator-elect Raphael Warnock, who made history by becoming the first Black Senator to represent the state of Georgia. CBA is thrilled to welcome another Member of Congress who will add diversity to the Senate and most notably, will help make Congress as diverse as the people of the United States.

“We’d be remiss to not recognize the symbolism and great representation of HBCU graduates in politics this year; from the Senator-elect himself, a Morehouse graduate; to the Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, a proud Howard Alum; to the ingenuity on the campaign trail of Stacey Abrams, hailing from  Spelman College. The influence and contributions of the black community in this past election, stemming from the proud will of black voters who helped deliver record turnout is a true testament to black political power.

“The Congressional Black Associates joins in congratulating Senator-elect Raphael Warnock and all the people of Georgia. We are looking forward to building a strong relationship with the Senator-elect.”
